After the success of the first Harry Potter movie, it came as no surprise when Chris Columbus was given the responsibility to direct the second movie. He's made the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets movie a lot darker compared to the first one.

The movie has seen success all over the globe and one of the many reasons is good casting. One of my favorite characters in the movie was that of Lockhart, played by Kenneth Branagh. He comes across as a man full of himself but is also extremely funny and adds a good amount of humor to the movie. Another fine performance in the movie is by the evil and prejudiced Lucius Malfoy, played by Jason Isaacs.

The director manages to stick to the book for most of the story and this was a great relief for all JK Rowling fans, also there are some breathtaking visuals that have been really well presented in the movie. The sets that have been made for the movie transport you into fantasy land and make you feel like you are actually there. The visuals, along with extremely realistic sets are complimented by some really first class acting by the young stars.

Though the director Chris Columbus follows the book meticulously, he makes sure to add his personal touch by providing some really amazing visuals and sets. Apart, from the visuals and sets the movie's main success comes from its child stars. They show a lot of maturity and improvement from their first movie and put forth an excellent performance.

One of the saddest parts for Harry Potter fans around the world is the death of actor Richard Harris, who gave a masterful performance as Dumbledore. It came as a shock when he passed away just a few weeks before the world premier of the movie. His last performance was indeed one of his best and it may be difficult to replace him.

Hollywood has seen a lot of fantasy movies in the last few years, but one movie that towers above the rest is The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King movie. It is a rare masterpiece that has stretched our imagination to the max and satisfied our fantasy desires. Director Peter Jackson is the brain child behind this magnificent movie and should get most of the credit for taking the initiative to create such a work of genius.

All three movies in the trilogy have been incredibly brilliant but to say that this was the best wouldn't be right as each had its own attraction. The movie grips you right from the first scene which begins where the previous movie had left and leaves you wanting more of it when it ends.

The character of Gollum has been brilliantly crafted by Peter Jackson using computer generated special effects. Also, the last two battles in the movie take your breath away not only because of the fantastic visual effects but also because of the grand scale of the battle. The soundtrack in the movie only adds to the entire feel and is elegant and powerful.

Almost all the characters including the important one's such as Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Sam and Frodo give an award winning performance and make this movie one of the biggest successes in the movie industry. Adding to their talents is Peter Jackson who picks the most magnificent locations to showcase these brilliant actors' skills.

Other key characters like that of Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, Legolas and Gimli continue with their brilliant performances and make this movie a must watch for all. Also, Peter Jackson continues to stun us with some breathtaking locations and brilliant computer generated visuals.

However, the deal is that the trilogy is over. No more Lord of the Rings movies to wait for, no more anticipation of another brilliant fantasy movie. This has left many die-hard fans upset but one must take heart in and appreciate the beauty of this epic movie that has helped us enjoy Tolkien's fantasy.

Many die-hard Harry Potter fans were fervently waiting for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie to hit their nearest theatres. Many just wanted to get engrossed in JK Rowlings fantasy land, some just wanted to see their favorite characters again and a lot of them wanted to see what the new director had in store for them. David Yates the new director for this movie, though inexperienced, did a fabulous job in bringing out the true essence of this fabulous fantasy novel by JK Rowling.

There are a number of key events that are taking place in this movie such as the return of He Who must Not be Named, O.W.L exams and the intrusion of the Ministry of Magic in Hogwarts. The movie starts with Harry walking down a street with his cousin Dudley (Harry Melling) and suddenly finding dementors attacking them. He fights them off but this leads to complication with the Ministry of Magic. Seeing that the Ministry of Magic is not doing their job properly Dumbledore re-starts the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society of magicians who come together for one cause; to destroy Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).

Many things are happening in Harrys fifth year at Hogwarts, he has his much awaited O.W.L. exams, Lord Voldemort is rumored to have returned and the Ministry of Magic is going crazy and is taking keen interest in the working of Hogwarts. The movie begins with Harry and his cousin Dudley being attacked by Dementors, Harry manages to save the day with his Patronus charm, but that lands him in trouble with the Ministry of Magic. Meanwhile, Dumbledore is secretly re-grouping the members of the Order of the Phoenix, whove sworn to protect Harry and kill Lord Voldemort.

While Dumbledore is planning with the Order of the Phoenix, Harry, Ron and Hermione are eager to learn more about this secret group. They soon get involved as they are brought to the secret hideout of the group, the House of the Black which is Sirus Blacks house, and meet the house elf Kreacher. Harry also gets to meet all the members of the Order of the Phoenix including one who he doesnt completely trust or like.

Many fans will tell you they were disappointed. The sole reason for that is that many key moments and events were left out in this movie and one or two scenes were added by the director himself. However, it is practically impossible to please all fans as no one could fit an 870 page book into 2.5 hours of video.

In addition, director David Yates makes full use of the technology available at his disposal and brings the fabled Thestrals to life with some astounding special effects. Also, the casting crew should be credited as they found the perfect actors for the roles of Bellatrix Black and Dolores Umbridge. Overall, this is by far the best movie in the entire Harry Potter series, so far.
