Step one

When you go to turn on your game and you get the blinking red light there is a definite issue. First before you panic, try to turn the game off for one minute or two and then turn it back on. Lots of the time if you catch it early it could be fixed by this simple step.

Their may be a couple of layers to remove. The laser should be visible do not touch it. Gently wipe it clean with a Q-tip. Pour just a little alcohol on the Q-tip, try not to soak it.

Unfortunately you may need to replace the power supply. Do a Google search for a power supply you may find one for cheap. If you heard a loud pop sound while playing then most likely a fuse blew. Take the fuse out of the supply and bring it to any electronic store. They will be able to replace that for you.
