In order to carry out jobs in the game you need to have energy, there are two chief aspects to improving your Mafia Wars energy and they are the regeneration rate you have and the total energy points you can hold (your energy attribute level).
Energy Regeneration Rate
When you initially sign up for the game you can choose your character type, there are three types of characters:
1. Mogul - earns money faster than other characters
2. Fearless - recovers health more rapidly than other characters
3. Maniac - recovers energy quicker than other characters
Note: Once you have selected your character type you cannot change it.
When you are choosing your character type, be sure to select the Maniac class. The Maniac class will help your regenerate your Mafia Wars energy faster during the game which will allow you to finish more jobs during the time you on in the game.
Getting the Golden Throne reward will increase the rate at which your Mafia Wars energy regenerates. You get the Golden Throne reward when you finish all of the jobs to the mastery level in New York. This will give you 2x the energy regeneration rate which means that every time you receive energy you'll get twice as much!
Energy Attribute Level
In order to help you level quicker, you will want to get your energy attribute level high quickly. Since each job takes a certain amount of energy, having more Mafia Wars energy lets you move through the jobs more rapidly which results in faster leveling. So, start out putting all of your points into energy. Try to have your energy level at around 200.
When you pick jobs to do try to pick ones that give you the highest reward to energy used ratio. You'll want to do this with either cash or experience, or both if you can manage it. All the jobs should be done as this will help you level more rapidly and get money faster as well.
Each time you level your energy will get refilled. It will also slowly regenerate as time passes, you can monitor this in the game below your energy level.
Other Ways To Get Energy
Your mafia can send you energy packs. Another way to help you get more done and level faster is to use these to improve your total energy attribute level, although only temporarily..
During the game you will get Godfather reward points. Some players use these to get energy refills, but you will do yourself a favor if you use them to get skill points that you can use to increase your attribute levels on a permanent basis.
