World of Warcraft Gold Generator Tips. How to Dominate the Auction House

The auction house in Warcraft is a place where a lot of gold can be gained and lost very quickly. The reason for this is that, like all real life markets, the individual prices for an item at the auction house fluctuates all the time. Borean leather is 1g a piece one day, and 2g a piece the next

So it's the variations that give you the player the opportunity to make and lose Warcraft gold. Selling to the NPC vendors that are dotted around the place does not offer variability. The prices they charge and buy for are fixed. SO if you have uncommon loot or decent crafting materials then these NPC vendors will not offer the best return for your efforts

Playing the auction house properly is something you should not try and do until you have taken the time to understand the variations. Is 2G for Borean leather a good price or a bad price? Unless you track prices over a period of time you won't know.

My initial advice would be to download the Auctioneer add-on. This tool allows you to run a full scan of the auction house, and collect all the prices people are asking for every item in there. Run the scan, and then get on with powerleveling

Run the scan once a day, or perhaps once every two days to avoid double counting certain 48 hour auctions. It might be awhile until you have enough data to make a decent average.

Auctioneer will record all the asking prices and then put a percentage against every item you see in the auction house. This percentage is a ratio of the average asking price that auctioneer has found. So 90% means that the item is priced 10% below the average. Whereas 110% means it is priced 10% above.

Using this detail, you can make decisions on what to buy and sell and more importantly when. But low and sell high. It works in Warcraft as well as the real world

There are some huge shortcomings with auctioneer in the long run though.

As I mentioned above, it records the asking price. Not the selling price, it doesn't even know whether the item sold at all. People can ask whatever price they want at auction. If you've seen a piece of wool cloth or similar on for 10,000g (it happens all the time) then this figure will massively increase the average that Auctioneer thinks Wool cloth is worth. It won't have sold of course (at least not to someone who was keeping within the ToS and actually wanted it) People do this to either move vast amount of gold around, or in the hope that someone accidentally clicks on the item and buys it. The result is the same. Auctioneer's average asking price gets completely skewed with rogue data.

Secondly, and more importantly, Auctioneer doesn't follow the game dynamics. It doesn't know that certain items will soon have a massive drop in demand because an upcoming patch is going to make them obsolete. Or that new items will be added that make the ones you have now pretty much worthless.

Auctioneer is a great tool to start with, but it is just a start. It's not the holy grail of gold making in Warcraft. If you want to be a World of Warcraft Gold Generator then you will need auctioneer, but you will also need a lot more besides.

Warcraft After Cataclysm. The Changes to WoW Guilds We Can Expect.

At a recent press conference, Blizzard unveiled the positive changes that we can expect to see with Warcraft Guilds. Introducing new ideas and features.

For me this has been one area of WoW progression that has been lacking over the years. It's supposed to be a social game after all.

The entire guild system is having a review, and although Cataclysm is some way off, the news looks very good indeed.

On logging in after patch 4.0, the first thing you might notice is the new guild GUI. The old style guild communication is gone; this is a whole new system. A screen showing your guild achievements through the various instances is displayed, along with the new achievement point total. Yes guilds now have guild achievement points.

If you are in a big well known guild such as WoW Defiance or WoW Relentless, you will see the legendaries you have acquired displayed prominently. Guild "realm firsts" etc. There will be a CSS style news feed ticker running that will give all the latest news from your recent instance runs. Right down to prominent loots and level ups.

One contentious issue has always been the paying of a tariff or tax into the guild bank. This may well end with a guild talent that increases the loot for all members while in an instance - and pays it directly into the guild bank. In other words you loot the gold you would normally loot, but an extra percentage ends up being deposited invisibly into your guild bank.

Finally, the way that guilds deal with professions is due to change. Every member of your guild will have a profession link in the guild tab. No need to call or whisper for a link. You can see what abilities all your guild mates have - right down to item level if they are on line.

There are achievements for having all professions maxxed. It is thought that these achievements will tally up and earn you the new "guild talents" All this adds up to good news for the player. It means Blizzard is taking social gaming seriously, and looking to make sure professions stay relevant. Both important issues if WoW's ascent is to be maintained.

Good news all round for the player then.
