Choosing the Correct Printer Paper Can Mean the Difference Between Poor Quality and High Quality Prints

Posted at 4:19 am under Computers

So you're in the middle of printing your new business plan or a report and suddenly you hear the dreaded noise of the printer running out of paper. We've all had it happen and it can be a real pain in the neck. However, have you considered the quality of printer paper you're using? Did you know that 80% of the print job is down to the quality of the paper you're using?

Most everyday printing needs only require the basic plain white paper. However, if you're printing a special project like a business plan or even a photo, you'll need to buy some specialist paper. The glossy finish that's provided by photo paper is very good for cover pages of reports and business plans as well as photos so you should consider this next time you print a large project.

Business plans and other such important documents require that addition quality and there are various ways that you can go about getting it. Printer paper is very cheap if you buy from somewhere like Tesco where they offer their value range. However, other stores offer higher quality paper and although you will need to pay more, it's worth it for that extra little something.

So when you're choosing what paper to buy, there are a few things you should consider. Firstly, think about the type of job you're doing. Is it necessary to add that extra quality? Most of the time, the answer will be no but if you're working on something special, it's nice to use higher quality paper to ensure that it looks and feels professional.

The higher gradient in the paper means that the ink sits better on it and this means a clearer and more high quality look and feel to the finished product. Obviously, you'll need to consider the ink you use as well but most of the work is down to the printer and the printer paper.

Finding high quality printer paper is simple but next time you start a printing project, remember to consider a different type of paper. You can use ordinary plain paper for your everyday printing needs but when it comes to special projects, it's a good idea to use specialist paper if you can.
